Richard Nixon Presidential Library
The October 20 RMRWF excursion to the Nixon Library was great. The beautiful air-conditioned top of the line bus whisked us to Yorba Linda in about one and a half hours. We were greeted at the Library by the Executive Director, and several board members. There was a welcoming three-piece musical chamber ensemble playing especially for us at the entrance. Below flags of the UK, the USA, and a portrait of the Queen, we each signed the guest book with a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, which will be presented to King Charles.
A senior board member of the Nixon Library, Marine Col. Jack Brennan, escorted us on the excursion. He shared personal anecdotes about his time in the White House with President Nixon, other presidents, and celebrities. Our buffet luncheon was in the East Room, which is an exact duplicate of the East Room in the White House. The Library’s Presidential Historian presented a tribute show about the Queen after lunch. We
enjoyed time in the gift shop before heading home.
We hope you will be able to join us for other adventures in the future.
