This is not a photo of Chris Harris, who is younger and more handsome.
Christopher Harris is the Secretary/Director of Legislative and Political Affairs for the National Border Patrol Council. United States Border patrol is a law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Border Patrol is one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the country. Last year Congress enacted a budget of more than $3 Billion for Border Patrol.
Mounted Watchmen began border patrol in 1904; to prevent illegal crossings. U.S. Army soldiers from time to time perform border patrol along the southwest border. Texas Rangers have also been assigned to patrol duties.
Border Patrol agents that are fluent in Spanish spend 13 weeks at the Border Patrol Academy in New Mexico, which is a component of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Those not fluent in Spanish spend an additional eight weeks at the Academy for a total of 21 weeks.
Border Patrol Agent Trainees are instructed in criminal law, nationality law, and administrative immigration law, police sciences, self-defense, arrest techniques, firearms training with pistol, shotgun and rifle, police vehicle driving, and other Border Patrol / federal law enforcement subjects. After graduation they have 12-16 weeks of on the job training.
With all that is happening on our southern border at this time, you will not want to miss what Chris Harris has to tell about his first-hand experiences with Border Patrol and the wall.
Plan to attend, and bring a friend.
