What do we do with The Dreamers? Can this word 'dreamer' be used to describe anyone who has hopes and dreams to become the best they can be here in the United States? Is 'dreamer' reserved only for those children of illegal immigrants that were brought here when they were so young and had no choice? As Americans we all dream and hope and aspire to do good and great things.

President Trump proposed amnesty for the DACA kids and their parents with an immigration reform bill if Congress would fund the border wall. The immigration lottery would be stopped and chain migration would include only immediate family, not extending to distant cousins and the like. Seems reasonable since it was what The Left wanted at one time but they labeled it racist and totally unreasonable.

Rush Limbaugh on a FOX Sunday show said thet he would go for amnesty for everyone in the United States who was here illegally as long as there was a provision that they could not vote for 15 to 25 years, but, was certain that The Left would not go for this. He went on to say that maintaining an underclass that would consistently vote Democratic was their ultimate goal. He believes that they want NO decision on The Dreamers or any other immigration issue until after the 2018 election and perhaps even the 2020 Presidential election.

The Republican Congress has no choice but to resolve this issue and not allow it to drag on and influence the midterm election. The House and the Senate have to work together to find a solution before time slips away and we end up with no border wall, The Dreamers still here and an election that could not end up well.

Mary Carter, President

Your Sunshine Chairman is requesting that you keep her informed of any and all occasions that need to be acknowledged by a card. Such things as births, deaths, marriages, health issues, happy and sad, all deserve recognition. If I don't hear from you, someone who could use a bit of cheering up would be overlooked. Let's don't let that happen. Just drop me a line or email me.

Many thanks,
