DA Michael Hestrin

District Attorney of Riverside County, Michael Hestrin, was elected in 2014, re-elected, and re-elected. His current term ends in 2027.

For almost 20 years before becoming the DA, Hestrin was a prosecutor in the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.  He handled difficult and challenging criminal cases, and completed more than 100 jury trials.  Mike was a team leader for the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit. He worked in the Homicide Unit where he has been recognized numerous times for his achievements.  He was named Countywide Prosecutor of the Year three times, and has won too many distinction and honor awards to list here.  He has conducted more than 40 murder trails, including 7 death penalty cases.

Tough traditional prosecution of serious and violent crimes is Hestrin’s focus. He created the DA’s Bureau of Investigation-led Gang Impact Team and Riverside County Child Exploitation Team. These teams aggressively investigate and prosecute felons, child predators, and human traffickers.  Hestrin has taken a stand against drug dealers who deal in fentanyl, and aggressively prosecutes them for murder when supported by evidence.

Mike lives in Murrieta with his wife and children.

We have our own Clark Kent/Superman fighting for Truth and Justice right here in Riverside County. Don’t miss what Mike has to tell.

Darlene Casella, Vice President

President's Message

I hope everyone had a great holiday and are ready for 2024!
It should be a very exciting year with the election in November!
Our December luncheon was a great success!
We enjoyed the music of Johnny Meza and 8 Navy Medical Corps Medics that are stationed at 29 Palms joined us for lunch. They loaded their cars full of wonderful toys that were brought in to take back to the base for the children at 29 Palms.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at our January Luncheon Meeting!

Happy New Year!
B. J. Niehaus, President
