With Guest Speaker
Dr. Karen Siegemund

Dr. Karen Siegemund is Chairman of the Board of the American Freedom Alliance. The daughter of a man who grew up in Hitler’s Berlin, Karen has always been aware of how precarious freedom is, and that tyranny begins with a slow erosion of rights and freedoms.
During the Cold War, Dr. Siegemund worked in the field of underwater acoustics, developing new sonar systems and testing them during sea trials around the world. Recognizing that an educated citizenry is needed to maintain freedom. Karen became an educator, and has taught Latin, French, science and mathematics, at high school and University levels. Additionally, she educated about values that make western civilization, and America specifically, exceptional.
Dr. Siegemund paid a price for her position in defense of western civilization and for political activity outside the classroom. A victim of the woke cancel culture, her teaching position was not renewed. The Epoch Times ran a feature article about her, and she was a guest on The Huckabee Show.
With American Freedom Alliance Karen fights against encroachments on freedom by hosting events. World-class conferences, literary cafes, lectures and movie premieres, each relating to freedom, how it’s attacked, and how we can preserve it, are the goals.
Plan to attend and learn what this freedom fighter has to share. Bring a friend.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Members:
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for your active participation at our luncheon in January. It was a great way to start the new year. I am glad you enjoyed our new venue. We are fortunate to have the Sunset Room again at least for the next few months and hopefully longer.
I want to remind you about our special program to provide “gently” used clothing for the young women at 29 Palms. Of course, if you have any children’s clothing, I am sure they could use that as well. Please bring your items to any or all of the luncheons now through May. We will arrange delivery of your contributions through the Armed Services of the YMCA.
Wishing you a very happy Valentine’s Day.
Patricia Pyle
President
