Unwrapped NewToys for Military Children
Ages 1 month to late teens

During the Holiday Season - Armed Services YMCA 29 Palms Marine Base provides gifts for the children of over 500 military families.  We provide turkeys and baked hams to military families, and last year 150 military kids received a bike at the holidays.  All of this is done in addition to the early childhood program, the Empty Nest Thrift Store, the food pantry, and emergency financial assistance for military families as needed.

Each December RMRWF honors the Military at 29 Palms Marine Base with donations of $25 Walmart Gift Cards for families which are given out at the on-base ASYMCA Holiday Party.  These gift cards are purchased by RMRWF with the proceeds of our annual November fundraiser.  They are presented to the Executive Director of ASYMCA.  Thank you for generously supporting this effort again this year.

Each year RMRWF collects toys for military children ages from infants to late teens, boys and girls. We ask you to bring unwrapped new gifts to our Holiday Luncheon on December 13th.  If batteries are needed, please include them. These toys will be brought to the Base and distributed at the ASYMCA Holiday Party.

Wishing you the Happiest Holiday Season,

Darlene Casella
Vice President RMRWF
Advisory Board President, ASYMCA 29 Palms Marine Base

An Increase in Price Begins January 2024

In spite of Joe Biden bragging about tiny price increases since he took office,  we all know prices have increased significantly.  The increased costs for food and transport has negatively impact the food and beverage industry; which includes restaurants and resorts.  Some have been forced to close.

Due to these issues RMRWF finds it necessary to increase the cost to attend a luncheon event to $55 for members and $60 for non members.  This will begin in January.  Another change is that we will require payment when a reservation is made, rather than at check-in.  More information regarding advance payment will be in the January Newsletter.

OPPORTUNITY DRAWING

Please stop by the raffle desk to view our wonderful prizes and buy your lucky ticket.  It is always such fun to win a prize – only one prize per person!

We want to thank those club members and our community friends who have provided some of the lovely prizes over the years.  They have been most generous!

HOSTESS COMMITTEE

We are always in need of hostesses to meet and greet our members and guests at our luncheon meetings.  Please let us know if you would like to have the opportunity to meet other friendly republicans.

 SUNSHINE

Please keep me informed of any occasions that need to be acknowledged by a card. Either happy (births, marriages, awards) or sad (health issues, deaths) all issues deserve recognition.
